There was be a prayer day for Woodley at Christ Church on January 24th from 6:00 to 22:00. This was part of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.
In the church there was a series of prayer stations: displays of interesting things to inspire prayer about various initiatives. Each station was provided by a different church or organisation in Woodley. Pictures of some of the stations are below (click on picture to enlarge).
On each hour a diferent person presented a five minute period of meditation, readings or prayer, an inspiration to focus minds. One period focused on the words of "What a Friend I have in Jesus", for instance. In between were peiods of quiet or soft inspiring music. At one point 10 children from Beechwood School visited and read their own prayers.
Refreshments were available from the Rainbow Cafe team.
The evening ended with a prayer concert at 20:00.
