Second Woodley Scouts

The 2nd Woodley Scout Group is sponsored by Christ Church and used to meet at the Church until in 2003 they took over the hall in Vauxhall Drive previously used by the 4th Woodley. Their members are both boys and girls, from 5˝ to 14 years of age, and meet as follows:

  • BEAVER Scouts (Boys and Girls - 5˝ to 7 years) TUESDAY evenings 6:00pm - 7:00pm
  • CUB Scouts (Boys and Girls - 8 to 10 years) MONDAY evenings 6:30pm - 8:00pm
  • SCOUTS (Boys and Girls - 11 to 14 years) TUESDAY evenings 7:00pm - 9:00pm

    Woodley Volunteer Centre

    10:00 am - 12:00noon, Mondays to Fridays. An office in the Church buildings is manned by a member of the Woodley Volunteer Centre to coordinate the requests of local people with varying needs (such as lifts to hospital), with offers of help from local volunteers. The Centre can be contacted on 0118-9698849. An answering machine operates when the office is unmanned.

    Football Team

    From autumn 2012 the West Reading Churches Football Team have become affiliated to Christ Church. Despite their name they play in Woodley (at Bulmershe Court) and largely live to the east of Reading, including some former members of our BB.

    Private Bookings

    We have three halls, the church itself, and a meeting room (the Stenner Lounge) available for private hire at competitive rates. They are available for a variety of uses, but note that smoking and alcohol are not allowed on the premesis. Below is a list of some of our regular bookings and others that have used us in the past.
